    Couchbase en passe d’être rachetée pour 1,5 milliard de dollars

    Le spécialiste californien de base de données NoSQL pour le développement d’applications critiques va être racheté par le fonds texan d’investissement Haveli pour 1,5 milliard de dollars. Introduite en bourse en 2021, la société Couchbase est désormais valorisée à environ 1,32 milliard de dollars au Nasdaq.

    La société de Santa Clara compte Amadeus, Comcast, GE, United Airlines ou encore UPS parmi ses entreprises clientes. Elle compte également Donald Chamberlin parmi ses collaborateurs. Donald Chamberlin a co-créé le langage de base de données SQL dans les années 1970.

    Sumit Pande, le directeur général principal de Haveli Investments, estime que « la couche de données dans les piles informatiques des entreprises continue de gagner en importance en tant que catalyseur essentiel des applications d’IA de nouvelle génération » et que  la base de données de Couchbase est « positionnée pour répondre aux exigences de performance et d’échelle des plus grandes entreprises mondiales ». Haveli Investments détient déjà 9,6 % du capital de Couchbase, selon les informations de l’agence de presse Reuters.

    La transaction devrait être finalisée au second semestre 2025. Couchbase ne sera alors plus cotée en bourse.
