    Equity mutual fund inflows rise 21% to Rs 29,911 crore in November; marginal slip in SIP inflows: AMFI data | Business News

    Inflows into equity mutual funds surged 21 per cent month-on-month to Rs 29,911.05 crore in November, compared with Rs 24,690.33 crore in October, according to the latest data from the Association of Mutual Funds (AMFI).

    Inflows through systematic investment plans (SIPs) declined marginally to Rs 29,445 crore in November, from Rs 29,529 crore in the previous month.

    Total assets under management (AUM) of the mutual fund industry inched up to Rs 80.8 lakh crore in the reporting month, from Rs 79.88 lakh crore in October .

    “Investors have continued to show faith in equity despite the volatility in the markets,” said Ovas Bakshi, Head-Retail Sales, Kotak Mahindra AMC.

    Small-cap funds witnessed November inflows worth Rs 4,406.9 crore compared with Rs 3,476.04 crore in the previous month. Mid-cap funds saw inflows of Rs 4,486.91 crore, up 18 per cent month-on-month from Rs 3,807.11 crore in October. Large-cap inflows were up by 69 per cent to Rs 1,639.8 crore from Rs 971.97 crore in October.

    Net inflows into sectoral/thematic funds increased to Rs 1,864.99 crore from Rs 1,366.16 crore in October.

    Flexi-cap category mutual funds received the highest flows at Rs 8,135.01 crore, according to AMFI data. The ability of flexi-cap funds to invest across market caps and their present large-cap bias attracted funds to the category, said Bakshi.

    Debt mutual funds saw outflows of Rs 25,692.63 crore in November, as against inflows of Rs 1,59,957.96 crore in October. This was due to significant outflow worth Rs 37,624.53 crore from overnight funds, and Rs 14,050.72 crore from liquid funds. Money market funds saw inflows of Rs 11,104.37 crore in November.

    Hybrid schemes garnered inflows of Rs 13,299.2 crore as against Rs 14,156.4 crore in October.

    Inflows into gold and silver exchange traded funds (ETF) fell to Rs 3,741.79 crore and Rs 2,154 crore, respectively, in November from Rs 7,743.19 crore and Rs 3,412 crore in October.

    The number of contributing SIP accounts declined to 9.43 crore from 9.45 crore.
