Zerodha Fund House expands Life Cycle series with 2031 target-date option

    August 29, 2026

Zerodha Fund House has expanded its Life Cycle Fund series with the launch of Zerodha Life Cycle Fund 2031, a target-date mutual fund with a five-year maturity horizon.

The fund house announced the launch on August 28, 2026. The New Fund Offer (NFO) opened on August 27 and will close on September 10.

The launch follows the introduction of the Zerodha Life Cycle Fund 2036 and Life Cycle Fund 2041 in June 2026. With the new fund, the series now has target dates of 2031, 2036 and 2041, corresponding to five-, 10- and 15-year investment horizons.

The fund follows a predefined asset-allocation strategy across equity, debt and commodities, including gold and silver. Its allocation is designed to become more conservative as the target year approaches, reducing the need for investors to make allocation changes themselves.

On the equity side, the fund aims to track the Nifty LargeMidcap 250 Index. Its debt exposure will include Indian government securities across different maturities, while the portfolio will also have exposure to commodities and arbitrage.

Zerodha Fund House CEO Vishal Jain said the fund series is designed to manage asset allocation as an investment goal approaches its target date.

The fund house said the Life Cycle Fund 2031 is classified as an equity-oriented fund for tax purposes throughout its lifecycle. It has no lock-in period, although applicable exit loads may apply on redemption.

The minimum investment amount is ₹100.

At maturity, investors can either withdraw their investment or remain invested, with the fund potentially being merged with the nearest-maturity Life Cycle Fund, subject to applicable regulations.

Zerodha Fund House said it plans to introduce additional schemes with different maturity years over time.
