Found in downtown Pensacola, The Coastal Cat Cafe is not your average coffee shop. Yes, they have your typical coffee shop finds, with freshly brewed coffee and pastries available to visitors, but what really sets them apart is their furry, four-legged staff.
The cafe, which opened just a year ago around this time, has already become a hotspot for animal lovers looking to adopt their next furry friend or customers who are looking to blow off some steam, offering a new and unique experience as you sip your coffee.
While the Coastal Cat Cafes roster of kittens is ever-rotating, their space serves as just the go-between for these cats before they find their forever home.

The cafe has partnered with local organizations Pensacola Foster Kittens and the Panhandle Animal Welfare Society, ensuring that every cat that comes to the cafe is healthy, well-cared for, and ready to find its new family! This effort has been a huge part of connecting hundreds of visitors with adoptable pets, fostering both awareness and action in the local community.
Recently, the cafe celebrated a huge milestone—their 100th adoption. Sharing the news on their Instagram, the cafe was delighted to have found so many forever homes in such a short span of time after opening its doors.
The atmosphere at the Coastal Cat Cafe is warm and welcoming, with a coffee lounge stocked with pastries and ready-to-go coffee courtesy of local bakery Craft Gourmet Bakery, as well as a separate lounge where you are able to go and interact with the cats. Patrons are allowed to go and interact with the cats as they please, with tons of different kittens and toys to choose from.
Looking to give a little more structured interaction, the cat cafe has now begun to offer a variety of creative events that blend together entertainment with cat companionship. A popular event for visitors of the cat cafe is “Cat Yoga,” a stress-relieving class where participants stretch alongside adoptable kitties.
The Coastal Cafe will also be hosting its very first “Meowloween Party” this upcoming
Halloween.
Tickets for this event are 32 dollars per person, with customers encouraged to dress in their favorite costumes as they enjoy candy and treats available, as well as the cats who will also be dressed in their best costumes.
Additional information on events and adoptions is available on the Coastal Cat Cafe website along with the cafe’s Instagram, @CoastalCatPcola.
