Cool Sips Is the Summer Soda Spot You Didn’t Know You Needed

    July 30, 2024

Cool Sips Is the Summer Soda Spot You Didn’t Know You Needed

We’ve spent much of this hot, sticky, humid summer touting all the ways to stay cool downtown, with proven methods including an ice cream binge, a rooftop bar crawl or a ferry trip to the Rockaways (just to name a few). If you’re looking to add one more to the list, consider paying a visit to Cool Sips, a hip “dirty” soda shop in the Seaport. Modeled after a California surf shack, Cool Sips offers all sorts of refreshing cold drinks, including sodas, teas, lemonade, energy drinks, sports drinks and cold-brewed coffee.

The fountain sodas are the real standouts here, made “dirty,” i.e. made with plenty of flavors, “creams” and other specialty delights mixed in with the classic cola and lemon-lime. Opt for one of Cool Sips’s “Signature Sips,” like the Pepsi, caramel and sweet cream-flavored Malibu, or create your own sip using soda flavors and syrups of your choice; you can also include boba and jellies for a special “stuffed” sip. Add crushed ice, a straw and a stroll by the water, and you’ve got a recipe for the perfect summer afternoon.

You’ll find Cool Sips at 84 South St., Pier 16; hours are Sunday through Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Thursday through Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
