Groww drove 48% of new SIP growth since FY17

    July 30, 2026

The company said it ended FY25-26 with 21.6 million transacting users and 16.7 million active users, managing customer assets worth ₹2.96 lakh crore.

The company said it ended FY25-26 with 21.6 million transacting users and 16.7 million active users, managing customer assets worth ₹2.96 lakh crore.

Wealth-tech platform Groww accounted for 48 per cent of the increase in new systematic investment plans (SIPs) created annually between FY17 and FY26, highlighting its growing role in expanding retail participation in India’s mutual fund industry, according to the company’s FY25-26 annual report.

The report said Groww also contributed 37 per cent of the increase in active clients on the NSE between FY20 and FY26

Groww accounted for 43 per cent of all new SIPs created in India during FY25-26. During the year, the platform processed 204.7 million SIPs, attracted SIP inflows of ₹₹46,624 crore, while mutual fund assets held on the platform stood at ₹1.57 lakh crore as of March 31, 2026.

The company said it ended FY25-26 with 21.6 million transacting users and 16.7 million active users, managing customer assets worth ₹2.96 lakh crore.

    Young investors

It further showed growing participation of first-time and young investors. It said 15.8 million transacting users on the platform were first-time investors, while 70 per cent of new transacting users added during FY25-26 were below the age of 35. Since its inception, 8.4 million students have opened demat accounts through Groww.

According to the company, investing is also becoming more geographically diverse, with 84 per cent of transacting users now coming from outside India’s top six cities. Groww said its users are spread across 97 per cent of the country’s PIN codes.

The report also pointed to improving customer engagement. As of March 31, 2026, 68 per cent of active users had adopted more than one financial product, compared with 55 per cent in FY22-23. Users with two or more products recorded a 91 per cent retention rate after 36 months, compared with 81 per cent for those using only one product.

Commenting on the company’s strategy, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Lalit Keshre said in the annual report that Groww plans to expand beyond a transaction-led platform into wealth management.

“We will move from being just a transactional platform. Through wealth management, we intend to help customers build real wealth in the right way,” Keshre said.
