Hailey Finger is the new owner of Sips Beer Garden and Food Court.

At 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2024, Hailey Finger became the owner of “Sips” in downtown Troy.

“As soon as I signed the paperwork a tear fell on my face,” Hailey said. “But it was a tear of happiness. For a long time, I have known what I wanted to do with my life. This was my chance. That special night, when I looked at the sunset, I realized how blessed I am to now have the opportunity for the sun to set every day on what I want to do most … own a restaurant, to own Sips.”

And, yes, Haley said she understands that owning a restaurant requires long hours and hard work and few, if any, days off.

“And, I understand that, even after a hard day, you have to come back the next and do it all again,” she said. “I understand that people expect good service and good food, no matter how hard yesterday was for you.”

But Hailey didn’t go into the purchase of Sips blindly. She had worked at Sips for almost eight years. She understood the ups and downs of the restaurant business. She learned from Sips owners, Jamie and Lyndsay Taylor.

Hailey expressed gratitude to the Taylors for their love and friendship and the opportunity realize her dream and for the unwavering support of the Sips community that she loves so deeply.

Looking ahead, Hailey said her focus is on maintaining the warm, welcoming atmosphere that Sips is known for while also exploring new ways to enhance Sips offerings and connect with the community.

“I’m excited to expand the Sips family and create more unforgettable memories with everyone,” Hailey said. “We have plans to host live music, feature guest food trucks, and organize pop-up events to keep the spirit of Sips vibrant and engaging for everyone.

“July 31, 2024, marks the day that I officially stepped into my new role at Sips, a place that has been my home since the summer of 2017. As a Troy native, my journey with Sips has been incredible, starting as the donut girl, advancing through management, and owning the businesses on the lot. Then, I had the honor of buying Sips and continuing its legacy.”

Haley said she has been fortunate to work under the guidance of Lyndsay and Jamie Taylor. Their mentorship has grown into a cherished friendship, and their legacy at Sips is something she is deeply honored to uphold.

“The traditions and community spirit they’ve built are at the heart of Sips, and I am dedicated to preserving these while also introducing fresh ideas and energy to our beloved establishment,”.

Looking ahead, Hailey said her focus is on maintaining the warm, welcoming atmosphere that Sips is known for, while also exploring new ways to enhance Sips offerings and connection to the expanding community.

“I’m excited to expand the Sips family and create more unforgettable memories with everyone and to keep the spirit of Sips vibrant and engaging for everyone.”

Hailey expressed appreciation for the community’s love and support and excitement about the future of Sips Beer Garden and Food Court and to especially to Lyndsay and Jamie Taylor for giving her the opportunity to fulfill her dream.
