Phuket’s green season revival at Sip & Surf x Beach Break @Kamala 2025

    July 29, 2025

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Phuket Office, together with Kamala Go Surfing Club, Kamala Subdistrict Municipality and partners are proud to present Sip & Surf x Beach Break @Kamala 2025, a vibrant seaside event set to take place from July 25 to 27 at Kamala Beach, Kathu District, Phuket Province.

The event aims to integrate beachside leisure with the dynamic sport of surfing, positioning Kamala Beach as a rising destination for sport tourism and sustainable community-based tourism during the green season.

Following the overwhelming success of Sip & Chill: Zoociety in April, which attracted both Thai and international visitors, TAT is expanding its concept by partnering with the long-running local surfing competition Beach Break @Kamala.

This new fusion will offer a mix of creative beachside experiences and an authentic coastal lifestyle, featuring live surfing competitions, eco-workshops, and a local community marketplace. The three-day event is expected to welcome over 5,000 tourists worldwide.

Wajanan Silpawornwiwat, TAT Regional Director for the Southern Region, shares the vision behind the event.

“Sip & Surf x Beach Break @Kamala 2025 reflects TAT’s long-term strategy to promote sport and community-based tourism in a meaningful and sustainable way. By combining accessible leisure activities like beach picnics with traditional surf culture, we are adding value to lesser-known beach destinations while fostering income distribution and cultural preservation at the grassroots level.”

Vissanu Madsatool, President of the Kamala Go Surfing Club, also expressed his appreciation.

“We’ve been organising surf competitions at Kamala Beach for 18 years, thanks to strong community support and passion from athletes across the country. This year, with TAT’s collaboration, we are taking things to the next level by enhancing event standards, media exposure, and visitor engagement.

“The green season offers peaceful seas and great surfing for learners and pros alike. I believe this partnership will elevate Kamala Beach as a renowned sport tourism hub in Phuket.”

Sip & Surf x Beach Break @Kamala 2025 exemplifies creative, community-driven tourism that promotes inclusivity, youth empowerment, and sustainable local economies, turning the green season into a golden opportunity for destination development.
