Yakima, Wash. — The 9th annual Sip and Stroll in Yakima gave locals a chance to walk the streets of Downtown Yakima while sipping some local favorites.
“It’s been nice,” said eventgoer, Colleen Doonan. “I’ve got to taste a lot of the local wines and breweries, which I would never come in contact with.”
The event brought people together from all across the Yakima Valley.
“It brings a lot of people together, I’ve met a lot of people today,” said Ken Cooper, a frequent sipper and stroller. “It’s been a lot of fun.”
Several shops, hotels and other local locations participated in this year’s event. Cooper, who was accompanied by his wife, sister and friends, says that he found some shops that he enjoyed along the way.
“I’ve been in a couple shops that peak my interests more than theirs,” Cooper said.
Cooper’s wife, Kelli, says that she got to explore some things that she had never seen before.
“We went to a hotel down here, like when would we ever do that?”, she said. “We live here.”
Attendees also had the opportunity to enter a raffle to win a 43-inch flat-screen TV by visiting at least 12 of the 17 locations.
