RICHLAND, Wash.-A “Sips and Supplies” event to help prepare Richland students for the upcoming school year is set for the Richland Target on Thursday, Aug. 22.

Richland Police, the Police Foundation and Target are teaming up for the event from 2-4 p.m.

“Supporting our children and families is vital to the Richland Police Department’s mission,” ” said Richland Police Department Chief Craig Meidl.

“Sips and Supplies” is an opportunity for families of students to get the school supplies they need and interact with Richland Police.

According to the RPD, attendees can also enjoy free coffee from the Starbucks in Target and officers will be distributing school supplies to those in need.

The school supplies that will be given away were donated by the Richland Police Foundation and Target.

“We enjoy any opportunity that presents itself to support our community and give back to the most vulnerable youth,” said Richland Police Department Foundation President,” Monica Malhan.

The Richland Target is located at 2941 Queensgate Drive.
