    le Gabon va lancer le projet “Blue Bonds”

    Considéré par ses pairs de la sous-région comme modèle en matière de protection de l’environnement, le Gabon entend maintenir le cap. Dans ce sens, la ministre de la Pêche et de la Mer, Syrielle Zora Kassa, a pris part, lundi dernier, aux travaux du Comité de pilotage extraordinaire du projet “Blue Bonds”, une initiative clé pour la gestion durable des ressources maritimes et la préservation des écosystèmes marins du Gabon.

    En effet, au cours de cette session stratégique, les membres du comité ont mis l’accent sur la feuille de route du projet, définissant ainsi les prochaines étapes essentielles à sa mise en œuvre.

    De plus, la réunion a également permis d’acter le lancement des travaux, rendu possible par l’appui financier de The Nature Conservancy (TNC), en attendant la subvention prévue par le Fonds de préservation pour la biodiversité du Gabon (FPBG).

    À cet effet, la ministre de la Pêche et de la Mer a réaffirmé son engagement à accompagner la mise en œuvre efficace du projet «Blue Bonds», dans une dynamique de conservation et de valorisation durable du patrimoine maritime national.

    Représentant un modèle créatif pour la conservation des océans, le concept “Blue Bonds” repose sur un principe simple : alléger la dette du pays en contrepartie d’un engagement envers la préservation des espaces marins. Ce mécanisme, qui a déjà fait ses preuves dans plusieurs Nations riches en biodiversité, permet de transformer une portion des obligations souveraines en investissements spécifiquement dédiés à la conservation marine.
