    The 10 top-performing ETFs on SGX in Q3; China funds dominate

    [SINGAPORE] Singapore Exchange’s (SGX) third quarter recorded robust results on the exchange-traded fund (ETF) market, according to a report released by SGX on Tuesday (Oct 28).

    The market hit a record high of S$16.3 billion in assets under management (AUM) as at end-September. It enjoyed robust net inflows of S$736 million, and a surge in trading activity, with the average daily turnover for ETFs climbing 68 per cent year on year to S$31 million.

    With the addition of three new listings this quarter, the total number of ETFs listed on SGX now stands at 50.

    China-focused ETFs delivered the strongest gains in the third quarter of 2025, dominating the list of top 10 gainers on SGX. The rally was heavily concentrated in technology, growth, and A-share benchmarks, with Vietnam-focused funds being the only non-China ETFs to crack the top 10.

    Here’s a look at the 10 best-performing ETFs in Q3 2025, based on the SGX report. By contrast, the Straits Times Index has a return of about 17 per cent, year-to-date.

    1. CSOP CSI Star and ChiNext 50 Index ETF

    This ETF tracks the CSI STAR & ChiNext 50 Index, offering exposure to 50 leading technology and growth-oriented companies listed on Shanghai’s STAR Market and the ChiNext board.

    It was the runaway leader, posting a 67.5 per cent total return for the quarter.

    2. UOBAM Ping An ChiNext ETF

    This fund provides direct exposure to the ChiNext Index, which comprises the 100 largest and most liquid A-shares stocks on the ChiNext board, often considered China’s equivalent to the Nasdaq.

    It secured the second spot with a 53.1 per cent gain.

    3. Amova E Fund ChiNext Index ETF

    Also tracking the ChiNext Index, weighted by free float market capitalisation. This fund debuted on the SGX on July 22, 2025.

    The new listing had a powerful start, returning 42.9 per cent in Q3.

    4. Amova-Straits Trading MSCI China EV and Future Mobility ETF

    This thematic ETF focuses on the electric vehicle (EV) and future mobility sector, tracking the MSCI China All Shares IMI FM Top 50 SGD Index.

    It gained 41.8 per cent, underscoring strong investor interest in China’s EV space.

    5. Xtrackers FTSE Vietnam Swap UCITS ETF

    Breaking the China streak, this ETF offers broad exposure to the Vietnamese market by tracking the FTSE Vietnam Index.

    It posted a strong 32.1 per cent return.

    6. CGS-Fullgoal Vietnam 30 Sector Capped ETF

    The second Vietnam-focused fund, this ETF tracks the SGX iEdge Vietnam 30 Index, which covers the 30 largest and most liquid Vietnamese companies.

    It returned 27.1 per cent for the quarter.

    7. Phillip-China Universal MSCI China A50 Connect ETF

    This fund targets 50 large-cap A-shares investible through the Stock Connect, tracking the MSCI China A 50 Connect Index.

    It delivered a 26.8 per cent return.

    8. Lion-OCBC Securities Hang Seng Tech ETF

    A popular proxy for China’s tech giants, this ETF tracks the 30 largest technology companies listed in Hong Kong via the Hang Seng Tech Index.

    It recorded a 24.6 per cent gain.

    9. Xtrackers MSCI China UCITS ETF

    This ETF provides broad exposure to the Chinese market by tracking the MSCI China TRN Index. It tracks the performance of large and mid-cap Chinese companies across A Shares, H Shares, B Shares, Red Chips, P Chips and foreign listings.

    It finished the quarter with a 22.0 per cent return.

    10. CGS-Fullgoal CSI1000 Index ETF

    Rounding out the list, this ETF tracks the CSI 1000 Index, which consists of 1,000 small cap companies listed on the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges, offering a different slice of the China market.

    It gained 21.2 per cent.
