    Mise en garde de la FSMA contre les activités de “Derwent Investments”

    La FSMA déconseille dès lors fortement de donner suite aux offres de services financiers émanant de Derwent Investments et d’effectuer tout versement sur un compte communiqué par cette société. En outre, selon les informations dont la FSMA dispose, il pourrait s’agir d’une fraude de type “boiler room”.

    “En général, le consommateur est attiré au moyen d’un premier investissement, d’un montant limité, qui s’avère très vite rentable. Par la suite, il est demandé au consommateur d’investir chaque fois davantage. Lorsque le consommateur souhaite récupérer son argent, cela s’avère impossible sans versements complémentaires et/ou les nouveaux investissements commencent à être déficitaires”, explique le gendarme financier. “Les escrocs soumettent le consommateur à une très forte pression, le poussant à verser toujours plus d’argent (d’où l’appellation anglaise de “boiler room”). Au final, le consommateur ne récupère jamais les montants investis”, met encore en garde la FSMA.
