Bandhan MF launches India’s first Sector Leaders Index Fund

    September 2, 2025

Bandhan Mutual Fund has launched the Bandhan BSE India Sector Leaders Index Fund, marking the first index fund in India to offer investors focused exposure to sector leaders across the economy.

The open-ended fund will track the BSE India Sector Leaders Index, which identifies the top three companies by market capitalization from each of the 21 sectors within the BSE 500 Index.

The New Fund Offer (NFO) will open on September 3 and close on September 17.

Investors can subscribe through licensed mutual fund distributors, financial advisors, online platforms, or directly via the fund’s website.

According to Vishal Kapoor, CEO of Bandhan AMC, sector leaders have demonstrated resilience through market cycles and lower disruption risk, making them potential long-term value drivers. He said the fund provides “simple, broad-based access to proven leaders powering the country’s growth story.”

The BSE India Sector Leaders Index is thematic, drawing from the BSE 500 Index and largely comprising large-cap stocks. The strategy has historically delivered returns similar to the broader market with lower volatility. Its diversification and market-cap weighting help mitigate concentration in individual stocks.
