Let’s start with your personal story
I was born and brought up in Delhi in a family of businessmen and professionals. I am the eldest of three siblings raised in a joint family setup.

I am a post graduate in management from Fore School of Management, Delhi. Before that, I did my Mathematics honors from Ramjas College, Delhi University.

How did you land up in this job?
I got a campus placement with P N Vijay Financial Services in 2001 in Delhi. This was the only company dealing in equity market which came to campus then. I worked there for three years, helped launched the PMS services, got clients and did equity research and fund management. At the time of leaving the firm in 2004, it was one of the largest PMS desk in the country managing more than Rs 400 crore of AUM.

I had a brief stint at Karvy Stock broking with their PMS division in Mumbai. I quickly moved to Religare PMS in 2005 and launched and managed their Scheme Caterpillar. This scheme is still running under Invesco brand.

I joined Kotak fund management in 2007 with their PMS division . I moved to Kotak Mutual fund in 2009 and covered Automobiles and consumer sector . I started managing equity funds since Aug 2015 at Kotak AMC .

Which funds are you currently managing?
I am currently managing multicap and hybrid strategies at Kotak Mutual Fund. The current active funds under management are as under: Kotak Multicap (Rs 14,000 crore)Kotak Multi Asset Allocation Fund (Rs 6,800 cr)

Kotak Equity Saving Fund (Rs 6,500 cr)

Kotak Conservative Hybrid (Rs 2,600 cr)

Kotak Multi Asset Allocator FoF (Rs 1,600 cr)

Kotak Consumption Fund (Rs 700 cr)

Kotak Special Opportunity Fund (Rs 2,200 crore)

What is your investment philosophy and how will you describe your investment strategy?
I am a style agnostic fund manager. A favourable risk reward ratio loaded is at the core of my investments. I use both quantitative and qualitative filters in my investment process. I am on a continuous look out for non-linearity in my investment ideas. I am a student of behavioral finance and believe it has a big impact on the market.

What gives you the kick while managing other people’s money?
There is no better feeling than being a contributor to the investor’s journey to financial freedom. Every single Rupee added to her portfolio brings joy to my face.
